The legend ANNO with the corresponding regnal year number is distributed around or beside the denomination mark, following standard Byzantine fiscal coinage practice. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. The image shows ANNO XIII (year 13, corresponding to 593-594 AD) with the TεS mint mark clearly legible below. |
