Additional information

Switzerland hosted the Alpine Ski World Championships at St. Moritz in 2003 — the resort's fourth time hosting the event, a record unmatched by any other venue. The Championships returned there partly on the strength of St. Moritz's long organizational history, having first hosted in 1934.

Swissmint's commemorative 20-franc pieces in .835 silver follow a domestic standard with deep roots in the Latin Monetary Union, the 19th-century multinational currency agreement that Switzerland helped found and that fixed silver fineness at exactly that alloy.
