| Obverse description | The upper field features a raised Swiss cross at centre, below which appears the circular legend CONFOEDERATIO HELVETICA flanking the cross along the upper periphery, with the date 2016 continuing along the lower right. The denomination 20 is rendered in large, bold numerals in the lower field, with the mint mark B and the currency abbreviation FR positioned immediately below. To the left of centre, the Swissmint's circular logo—depicting a stylised Helvetia head—is incuse in the field. |

Swissmint produces trial strikes — Probeprägungen — as internal test pieces before authorizing a final issue, and not all trials reach circulation or even public sale. Whether this piece was struck to test die alignment, planchet feed, or edge treatment is unrecorded in the public domain. The Red Cross connection is straightforward: Switzerland is home to the ICRC, founded in Geneva in 1863, and the organization's emblem is a direct inversion of the Swiss flag — a deliberate choice by Henry Dunant.
