Obverse description Central field occupied by a large square grid composed of twenty-five raised Swiss crosses arranged in five rows and five columns, evoking a modern graphic interpretation of the national emblem. The legend HELVETIA appears in bold serif capitals above the grid, flanked on the left by the denomination 20 and on the right by the abbreviation FR. Below the grid, the date 1998 is inscribed, accompanied to its right by the Swiss Federal Mint logo — a circular device enclosing a stylised cross — and the mint mark B appears at the lower right corner of the grid. The overall design is executed in a clean, modernist style with strong contrasts between relief and field.
