| Reverse description | A broad sword with its point directed to the left dominates the central field, its blade dividing two half-eagles facing left, one on each side. Arranged around the periphery are ten Swiss crosses, each contained within a square cartouche, forming a decorative border. The inscription 'DORNACH 1499' references the historic battle, paired with '1999' marking the quincentennial commemoration. The engraver's initials 'FE 99' appear in the lower field. |

Issued to mark the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Dornach, fought on 22 July 1499, where a Confederacy force routed the Imperial army of Maximilian I, effectively ending the Swabian War. The Swiss extracted no formal treaty ceding independence — that would wait until Westphalia in 1648 — but Dornach made further Habsburg military pressure politically untenable. The battle lasted under an hour.
