Obverse description Bare-headed left-facing effigy of King Albert I of Belgium, modeled in high relief with fine naturalistic detail to the hair and facial features. The legend curves around the periphery in Dutch, reading ALBERT KONING DER BELGEN (Albert, King of the Belgians), separated by raised dots. The engraver's name DEVREESE appears in small capitals along the lower truncation. The rim is defined by a continuous border of fine beading.

Reverse description The Royal Arms of Belgium, a crowned shield bearing a lion rampant, is depicted at center, mantled and supported by two ornate scrolled flourishes beneath an elaborate royal crown. The denomination 20 is inscribed to the left of the shield and FR. to the right. The engraver's initials G.D appear in the lower right field. The date is displayed in the exergue, with a small decorative ornament at its center. The entire design is contained within a beaded border.
