Obverse description The crowned coat of arms of the Republic of San Marino occupies the central field, depicting three towers atop a triple-peaked mountain rendered on a heart-shaped shield, flanked by an olive branch to the left and an oak branch to the right. A ribbon beneath the shield bears the national motto LIBERTAS in raised letters. The engraver's signature A.NAPOLIONE appears in the lower field below the shield. The circular legend REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO runs along the outer periphery, interrupted at the base by a decorative motif. The overall design is executed in high relief with polished proof surfaces characteristic of San Marino commemorative gold coinage.
