| 正面铭文 | ESPAÑA Cervantes M 2007 (Translation: Spain Cervantes M 2007) |
| 背面描述 | The reverse displays the common European map design depicting the European continent without internal national borders, set against a background of longitudinal lines. The face value 20 EURO CENT is inscribed to the left of the map in two lines, with the mint mark of Luc Luycx (LL) incorporated into the design. The globe motif extends to the edges of the coin, giving a sense of continental geography in relief. This second-map type, introduced in 2007, replaced the earlier stylised map that had omitted several Eastern European nations. |

The 2007 map change affected all eurozone members simultaneously, replacing the original "15-member" EU map with one extending to the continent's geographic edges — prompted by the 2004 and 2007 enlargements that had made the first map visibly incomplete. Spain's transition to the second map type coincided almost exactly with the country's catastrophic property bubble peak, after which circulation volumes dropped as the broader economy contracted sharply through 2008 and 2009.
