The legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper periphery of the inner circle, with the date 2025 divided on either side of the shield. | Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents an intensely dramatic, ultra-high relief portrait of a Tyrannosaurus rex depicted from a three-quarter frontal angle, its massive jaws agape and bared teeth rendered with exceptional sculptural detail. The creature's textured hide, deeply set eye, and muscular neck and shoulder are modelled in bold relief, conveying ferocious vitality. The surrounding field is densely engraved with prehistoric fern fronds and foliage, enhancing the naturalistic Mesozoic environment. The composition fills the entire coin surface to the rim, with no legends or inscriptions, allowing the paleontological subject matter to dominate in a purely pictorial treatment. The antique finish accentuates the deep relief and shadow play across the design. |
