| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Liberia at centre, depicting a sailing ship at sea with a palm tree and rising sun on a shield, surmounted by a scroll bearing the motto 'THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE'. The shield is flanked by laurel branches and supported by a dove above. The legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' arcs along the upper periphery, with 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' repeated on a banner at the base of the arms. The date '1997' is divided across the field to either side of the shield, and the denomination '$20 DOLLARS' appears in bold lettering along the lower rim. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features a three-quarter bust portrait of Saladin, Sultan of Egypt and Syria, depicted in traditional medieval Islamic robes and a wrapped turban, his right hand raised in a contemplative gesture. The effigy is set within an oval cartouche framed by an ornate border of interlocking Islamic geometric rosette motifs encircling the entire field. In the background behind the figure rises a stylised cityscape of domed mosques and minarets, evoking the architecture of Jerusalem. The name 'SALADIN' is inscribed in bold lettering along the upper legend, and the denomination '$20' appears to the left of the portrait within the cartouche. |
