背面描述 The reverse presents a richly colorized devotional effigy of Lord Venkateswara (Balaji) in full frontal standing pose, adorned with elaborate floral garlands in vivid pink, red, yellow, and green, and draped in ornate regalia with gemstone embellishments. The deity is enshrined within a traditional South Indian temple gateway (gopuram-style arch) flanked by two ornate pillars, with a radiant sunburst halo behind the head. Tall ceremonial oil lamps (deepa stambhas) stand to either side of the shrine. A sacred flame burns at the base in the lower field, and the date 2014 is inscribed at the bottom. Two lines of Devanagari script curve along the upper border, quoting the Sanskrit shloka extolling the supremacy of Lord Venkateswara.

附加信息

Palau has issued devotional coins tied to Hindu deities since the mid-2000s, an arrangement that has nothing to do with the island nation's own religious demography — Palau is overwhelmingly Christian — and everything to do with the Indian collector and gift market. Lord Venkateswara, enshrined at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, presides over one of the wealthiest and most-visited pilgrimage sites on earth, with the temple trust historically receiving more donations annually than almost any religious institution in the world.

The coin functions largely as a devotional object rather than a circulating or investment piece.
