| Reverse description | Central high-relief depiction of the golden death mask of Tutankhamun, rendered with exceptional sculptural detail including the nemes headdress with uraeus and vulture, striped lappets, broad usekh collar, and false beard. Surrounding the central mask is an intricate array of finely engraved ancient Egyptian motifs drawn from the contents of the tomb, including deities, canopic figures, funerary goods, animal-headed guardians, a winged goddess (Isis) kneeling with outstretched wings at the base, cartouches, and an abundance of hieroglyphic inscriptions filling the border zone on all sides. The legend TUTANKHAMUN'S arcs along the upper rim and TOMB 1922 along the lower rim in raised Latin letters, with the numerals 20 and 22 flanking the central design at left and right respectively. |
