正面描述 The obverse features a right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, centered in the upper field, with the engraver's initials IRB below the truncation. Flanking the portrait are relief maps of the North Atlantic Ocean showing the eastern coast of North America to the left and the western coast of Europe and the British Isles to the right, with a curved line and dashed trajectory indicating the Titanic's maiden voyage route terminating at a starburst marking the sinking location. In the lower field, two detailed cross-sectional technical engravings of the RMS Titanic are depicted — a profile elevation above and a cutaway deck plan below — the latter containing an inset compartment housing an authentic coal fragment recovered from the Titanic wreck site. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery and 20 DOLLARS COOK ISLANDS along the upper field, while the date 2022 appears prominently at the bottom; an extensive circular border inscription records the ship's principal technical specifications and historical data.

附加信息

The Cook Islands has issued commemorative silver under its own authority since the 1970s, despite having no independent central bank — New Zealand dollars circulate in practice, making Cook Islands coinage a de facto collector product from the outset. This piece marks the 110th anniversary of the sinking, which occurred on April 15, 1912, killing an estimated 1,517 people.

At 93.3 grams, the planchet is substantially heavier than a standard crown-sized issue, a weight class increasingly favored by the Pacific island commemorative market to justify higher retail premiums on bullion-content alone.
