| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse presents four successive official effigies of Queen Elizabeth II arranged within ornate scrollwork cartouches at the cardinal points of the field, chronicling her portraiture across seven decades of Canadian coinage. At the top appears the mature, uncrowned effigy as used on contemporary Canadian issues; to the left is a youthful, bare-headed portrait recalling the earliest Gillick-style effigy; to the right appears a diademed effigy wearing the Lover's Knot Tiara, associated with the Machin portrait era; and at the bottom is depicted the crowned effigy from the Arnold Machin generation of coinage. The central field bears a raised circular border enclosing the legend ELIZABETH II and D·G·REGINA with the date 2021. The four portraits are united by an elaborate acanthus and scroll relief design that fills the surrounding field in high relief. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse features a highly detailed engraving of a section of the Lover's Knot Tiara, a celebrated royal jewel historically associated with Queen Elizabeth II. The central motif depicts three suspended pearl drops, each set beneath interlaced lover's knot bows rendered in fine relief and set with applied Swarovski crystal stones of pale blue hue simulating diamonds, imparting exceptional brilliance to the design. A delicate pearl-studded swag connects the lower elements, faithfully replicating the tiara's distinctive festoon construction. The design is framed by a border of alternating raised circular bosses encircling the entire field. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper rim and the denomination 20 DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower rim, both in incuse lettering. |
