| 裏面の説明 | A large royal crown of Belgium is prominently displayed in the upper portion of the field, with the French legend BELGIQUE arching above it along the upper rim. The denomination numeral 20 is rendered in bold stylized figures in the center of the field, flanked by decorative scrollwork. The mint year is divided to either side of the numeral 20, with partial digits appearing in the lower left and right of the central design. The word CENTIMES appears in the exergue below the denomination. |

Belgium maintained parallel French- and Dutch-language coin series throughout the postwar decades, a practice rooted in the country's persistent linguistic legislation rather than any minting necessity. The two versions circulated simultaneously and were legally interchangeable, though each community reliably spent its own.
Bronze was retained here well after neighboring countries had moved to cheaper alloys — a quiet conservatism that would end when Belgium finally switched to copper-clad steel in the 1980s.
