Obverse description The Mexican national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting an eagle perched on a cactus and facing left, with a serpent in its beak, supported below by a semicircular wreath of oak and laurel branches tied with a ribbon. The enlarged national emblem is prominently rendered in high relief. The legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS encircles the design along the upper periphery in Latin script.
