Obverse description Central field bears the Mexican national coat of arms, depicting an eagle perched on a cactus and grasping a serpent in its beak and talons, rendered in high relief with notably thick, bold modelling. The eagle is flanked by a wreath of oak and laurel branches tied at the base. The curved legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin capitals.
