Obverse description The Mexican national arms occupies the central field, depicting the heraldic eagle perched in left profile atop a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky islet, with a serpent held in its beak and talon. The eagle is rendered in fine detail with outstretched wings partially spread, surrounded by an oak and laurel wreath tied at the base.
