Obverse description The Polish state emblem, a crowned white eagle with wings displayed and talons extended, occupies the central field. The legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA curves along the upper periphery, while the date 2009 is divided across the lower field on either side of the eagle's body. The denomination ZŁ 2 ZŁ is inscribed in the lower exergue, flanked by decorative dot ornaments forming a partial border.

Reverse description A detailed architectural view of the Jasna Góra Monastery complex in Częstochowa fills the central field. To the left, the ornate Baroque main gateway with arched entrance and decorative sculptural crowning is prominently depicted, while the tall multi-tiered bell tower rises prominently at centre, flanked by the monastery church and ancillary buildings extending to the right. The legend JASNA GÓRA curves along the upper periphery and CZĘSTOCHOWA runs along the lower rim in incuse lettering following the contour of the coin.
