Reverse description The reverse depicts a group of students engaged in discussion or signing documents at a table, rendered in a stylised relief composition occupying the central field. The NZS logotype and the inscription '30 lat' appear prominently in the lower central field, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Independent Students' Association. The circular legend 30. ROCZNICA POWSTANIA NIEZALEŻNEGO ZRZESZENIA STUDENTÓW runs along the periphery, partially inverted at the base in keeping with the medal alignment. The overall design evokes the spirit of academic solidarity and civic activism associated with the organisation's origins in 1980.

Additional information

The Independent Students' Association — Niezależne Zrzeszenie Studentów — was founded in September 1980 in the immediate wake of the Gdańsk Agreements, making it one of the first independent civic organizations to emerge from the Solidarity period. Suppressed under martial law in December 1981, it was formally banned and driven underground until 1989. This coin commemorates the organization's role in that broader resistance network, issued as part of the National Bank's long-running Nordic gold series honoring Polish independence-era institutions.
