Obverse description Within a circular beaded inner border set on a square klippe flan, a helmeted and elaborately mantled four-fold coat of arms of the Abbey of Fulda is displayed centrally in the field. The helm above the shield is surmounted by a bishop's mitre and ornate crest. The surrounding legend in Latin, running clockwise within the outer border, cites the name and titles of Abbot Balthasar of Dernbach.
