Obverse description Crowned and armored bust of Frederik III facing right, rendered in high relief in the baroque hammered style, with long flowing hair curling below the crown and a lace cravat visible at the truncation. The king is depicted in three-quarter armor with elaborate pauldron detailing. The effigy is set within a deeply recessed inner field, surrounded by a beaded inner border. The circular Latin legend runs continuously around the periphery between the beaded border and the outer rim, identifying the monarch as king of Denmark, Norway, the Wends, and the Goths.
