Obverse description Draped bust of King Frederik III with flowing long hair, facing right, portrayed within a beaded inner circle. The effigy is rendered in a baroque portrait style typical of mid-17th century Scandinavian coinage. A continuous Latin legend encircles the bust, separated from the outer rim by a beaded ring.

(Translation: Frederik III, by Gods grace, king of Denmark, Norway, the Wends and the Goths)
Reverse description The crowned, two-tailed rampant lion of Norway, facing left and holding a curved halberd in its forepaws, is depicted within a beaded inner circle. A mintmark appears between the lion's hind legs. The royal motto forms the encircling legend, with the date split and flanking the design, and the initials F.G. appearing at the close of the inscription. A beaded ring borders the outer rim.
