Obverse description Central field dominated by the elaborately interlaced and mirrored royal cypher of King Frederik IV, formed by two intertwined Fs rendered in a decorative cursive script. The monogram occupies nearly the full flan and is surmounted by a royal crown with arches and orb, depicted in high relief. No peripheral legend is present on the obverse. The overall design is characteristic of the baroque monogram coinage of the Danish-Norwegian realm in the early eighteenth century.
Obverse script Latin

Reverse description The crowned Norwegian lion rampant, facing left and holding a long-handled axe (the traditional arms of Norway), is depicted in the central field. The lion is surrounded by a circular Latin legend reading II SKILLING DANSK. A mintmark appears below the lion in the lower field. The design follows the conventional heraldic style of Danish-Norwegian coinage of the period.
