Obverse description Central field occupied by an elaborately interlaced royal cypher of Frederik IV — the crowned, intertwined script initials 'F4' rendered as a decorative monogram with foliate flourishes and scrollwork. Surmounting the monogram is a large royal crown with arched bands and orb finial, rendered in high relief. The field is plain and unlettered, with no surrounding legend, the entire design contained within a plain inner border and a milled outer rim.
