Reverse description Central field displays a raised fundō (官目, official counterweight symbol) flanked to its left by an incuse countermark reading 定 (meaning 'guaranteed' or 'certified'), all set within a raised pearl border matching that of the obverse. Below the fundō device, four kanji characters arranged in two vertical pairs — 常銀 / 是座 — identify the issuing Ginza (Silver Mint) and its official certifier Jōze. The composition of stamped and incuse elements reflects the layered authentication process employed by the Tokugawa shogunate to certify the coin's fineness and official status. The overall layout is austere and official in character, consistent with Edo-period monetary administration practice.
