Obverse description The obverse bears the full coat of arms of the Republic of San Marino at centre: a heart-shaped shield displaying three towers surmounted by ostrich feathers on three mountain peaks, flanked by an olive branch to the left and an oak branch to the right, all ensigned by a mural crown. A scroll beneath the shield carries the motto LIBERTAS in raised letters. The circular legend REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 2009 appears in the lower field, accompanied by the engraver's signature BINO BINI to the right.

Reverse description The reverse features a finely detailed sculptural group in high relief, depicting a seated classical female figure — an allegorical representation of the arts or culture — draped in flowing robes and wearing a laurel wreath, holding a stylus or paintbrush in her extended right hand. Two putti, one reclining to her left and one kneeling to her right, accompany the central figure on a tiered plinth. The curved legend TESORI SAMMARINESI (Treasures of San Marino) arcs along the upper periphery, with the denomination 2 SCUDI inscribed in the field to the left and right of the figure respectively. The Rome mint mark R appears in the lower right field, and the engraver's signature C. MOMONI is incised along the lower exergue.
