Obverse description Central field displays the large numeral '2' above the denomination legend 'SCHILLING' in a semi-circular arrangement. Surrounding the central motif, nine heraldic shields representing the nine Austrian federal provinces (Länder) are arranged in a ring. The circular legend 'REPUBLIK OESTERREICH' is inscribed along the upper periphery in bold Roman capitals, with two raised bullet points flanking the field at either side. The overall design is clean and heraldic in character, with finely detailed provincial arms rendered in low relief.
