Obverse description Bare-headed, bearded effigy of King Carl XV facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curling hair and full beard, engraved by Lea Ahlborn whose initials L.A. appear below the truncation. The circumferential legend reads CARL XV SVERIGES NORR. GÖTH. O. VEND. KONUNG., proclaiming the king's titles as ruler of Sweden, Norway, the Goths and the Wends. The portrait is surrounded by a fine dentillated border running along the coin's rim.
