| Obverse description | Central Jerusalem cross with floriate arms, dividing the field into four quarters, each containing alternating castles and rampant lions in the heraldic tradition of the Spanish Crown. The design is characteristic of the macuquina (cob) coinage produced at Lima, with irregular flan edges and varying strike quality typical of hand-hammered silver pieces. Partial circular legend surrounds the quartered shield, though incompletely struck as is common for this issue. The overall composition reflects the standard Hapsburg-to-Bourbon transitional coinage of early eighteenth-century Spanish colonial mints. |
