Colomera is a small municipality in the province of Granada, and like dozens of similar towns across Republican-held Spain, it issued its own fractional emergency paper during the Civil War when metal coinage effectively vanished from circulation after 1936. These municipal issues — often produced on whatever paper was locally available, stamped rather than printed with any sophistication — were strictly for local use and rarely traveled far. The issuing authority's legitimacy extended no further than the town itself.
The Gari Monerris reference is unassigned, which typically indicates the piece was documented too late or too incompletely for full cataloguing. Survivorship is unpredictable with these Spanish local issues.
