Obverse description Central field depicts a crowned figure, likely a heraldic animal or royal emblem, rendered in a crude hammered style typical of late 16th-century Swedish coinage. The design occupies the majority of the flan, surrounded by a circular legend. The relief is low and the strike somewhat uneven, consistent with hand-hammered production at the Stockholm Mint. The surrounding legend reads SIGISMVNDVS D G REX SVE, identifying Sigismund III Vasa as King of Sweden by the grace of God.
