| 裏面の説明 | Central design features the value expressed on multiple lines within a beaded circle, accompanied by the three crowns of Sweden. The composition of the alloy is specified in full as part of the reverse legend, reflecting the pattern nature of the strike. A circular legend surrounds the beaded circle, running along the rim. The overall layout is typical of Swedish proof and pattern coinage of the mid-nineteenth century, combining denominational and metallurgical information in a clear, formal arrangement. |

These pattern strikes were produced as Sweden debated a fundamental restructuring of its coinage system in the early 1850s. Oscar I was pushing toward decimal reform — the transition that would eventually produce the riksdaler riksmynt system in 1855 — and the mint at Stockholm struck multiple pattern types in 1853–54 to test both designs and alloy specifications before committing to production coinage. The existence of three separate KM pattern numbers for this type reflects genuine documented variation across the trial strikes, not cataloging redundancy.
