Obverse description The obverse features the interlaced royal cipher of Gustaf V — an ornate, foliated double-G monogram surmounted by the Swedish royal crown rendered in fine relief. The date year digits appear at the lower left of the monogram. The circular legend reads MED FOLKET FOR FOSTERLANDET (With the People for the Motherland) along the upper periphery, with the pattern designation PROV and the royal initials GGV incorporated into the inscription. The overall composition is typical of Swedish royal cipher coinage, executed in a bold, decorative style with particular attention to the interlaced letterforms.
