Obverse description Printed in dark blue-violet ink with a violet underprint; the note carries a circular guilloche rosette at centre enclosing the denomination "ZWEI MARK" in a white panel, flanked by two ornate floral medallions. Corner numeral "2" repeats in all four corners within a decorative border of interlocking geometric patterns. A circular control handstamp is applied over the central vignette, and the disclaimer "KEIN ÖFFENTLICHES ZAHLUNGSMITTEL" appears in small type beneath the central rosette.
