Obverse description Central field bears the small crowned royal cypher of King Frederik III, rendered as an interlaced monogram within a solid inner circle. The monogram is surrounded by a beaded border, beyond which runs the peripheral legend. A beaded ring frames the rim. The overall composition is characteristic of mid-17th-century Danish-Norwegian hammered silver coinage.
