Obverse description Central field dominated by the elaborate calligraphic tughra (imperial monogram) of Sultan Abdülhamid II, with the honorific epithet 'el-Ghazi' (the Warrior) inscribed to the right of the tughra. The regnal year (regnal year numeral in Arabic script) appears below the tughra. The entire design is surrounded by a beaded border. Varieties are known in the size of the date numerals and the tughra itself.

Reverse description The reverse features a multi-line Arabic inscription in the central field proclaiming the mint and Hijri date, enclosed within a circle of six-pointed stars that frames the entire central legend. The outer border consists of a continuous reeded or beaded rim. The Hijri accession year 1293 appears prominently at the base of the inscription, with the mint name 'Kostantiniyye' (Constantinople) and the pious formula 'Azze Nasruhu' (May His Victory Be Glorified) arranged in horizontal registers above.
