| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a central inscription in Grantha script rendered in relief on the irregularly shaped copper flan, bearing the legend 'Sri Vira', an auspicious royal epithet associated with the Nayak rulers of Madurai. The lettering occupies the central field and is characteristic of the epigraphic style employed on Tinnevelly district kasu coinage of this period. Surface porosity and heavy patination render portions of the legend partially obscured, consistent with the heavily circulated nature of these small copper pieces. The flan edges remain rough and uneven, reflecting the hand-struck hammered technique. |
