| Obverse description | Central field features the large Chinese character 漢 (Han) rendered in bold relief within a circular beaded inner ring, surrounded by a ring of eighteen raised pellets. The legend 中華民國元年 (Year 1 of the Republic of China) arcs across the upper field in Chinese characters. Two small rosette ornaments flank the pellet ring at the three and nine o'clock positions. The overall design is executed in a flat, architectonic style characteristic of early Republican-era Chinese provincial coinage, with fine vertical line engraving visible in the central field behind the primary character. |
