| Aversbeschreibung | The obverse is divided into two distinct registers by a vertical line. To the left, the Ukrainian state emblem (tryzub) appears above the denomination numeral '2' and the Cyrillic legend 'ГРИВНІ', with the country name 'УКРАЇНА' inscribed above in the upper left field. To the right, a draped theatrical curtain is rendered in high relief, evoking the world of the stage. At the center, a stylized decorative feather quill surmounted by a floral ornament spans the dividing line between the two registers. The date '2004' is inscribed along the lower edge, and the mint mark of the Banknote Printing and Minting Works appears in the lower right field. |

| Reversbeschreibung | The reverse features a finely modeled portrait of Maria Zankovetska in three-quarter view, depicting the celebrated Ukrainian actress draped in a traditional headscarf, her gaze directed slightly to the right. To the left of the portrait, an ornate decorative panel displays stylized floral and folk-art motifs in low relief, evoking Ukrainian ethnographic tradition. The subject's name 'МАРІЯ ЗАНЬКОВЕЦЬКА' is inscribed in Cyrillic along the upper left arc of the field, while her birth and death years '1854–1934' appear in the exergue along the lower edge. |

| Zusätzliche Informationen |
Maria Zankovetska was the defining figure of 19th-century Ukrainian theater, so celebrated during her lifetime that Stanislavski himself reportedly pursued her for the Moscow Art Theatre — she declined, unwilling to leave Ukrainian-language performance at a moment when Tsarist restrictions on the language were already biting hard. The 1876 Ems Decree had banned Ukrainian from the stage entirely, forcing companies to operate in legal gray zones or relocate performances.
This 2004 bimetallic issue belongs to Ukraine's long-running "Outstanding Personalities of Ukraine" series, struck at the Lugansk Mint.
