Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse displays the bold numeral '2' prominently in the upper-central field, below which the denomination GROSZE is inscribed in capital letters, followed by the date 1923 beneath. The entire central motif is enclosed within a wreath composed of stylized grain stalks curving symmetrically from the lower field upward on both sides, tied at the base by a decorative floral bouquet featuring a large open bloom with petals and surrounding foliage. The overall composition is well-balanced, combining agricultural symbolism with clean, legible typography in a design characteristic of the Polish Warsaw Mint pattern issues of the early 1920s.

Aanvullende informatie

Mennica Państwowa — the Polish State Mint, re-established in Warsaw in 1920 after over a century of partition — struck a series of trial pieces in precious metals during 1923 as part of the newly independent republic's effort to define its coinage system. This gold trial of the 2 Grosze was never intended for circulation; such pattern strikes were produced in small numbers for official examination and ministerial approval, with most examples passing directly into government or collector hands rather than any distribution channel.

Survival numbers are genuinely low. The Fischer and ParM references each treat this as a distinct variety, suggesting more than one die pairing or metal trial was prepared at this session.
