Obverse description Plain orange cardboard ground bearing a circular official handstamp at centre, enclosing a vignette of a castle or monument flanked by trees above the legend REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE, with the circular inscription DÉPÔT D'OFFICIERS PRISONNIERS DE MONTOIRE (L-&-C) ★ LE COMMANDANT ★ around the perimeter. The denomination 2 fr. is printed in bold letterpress at upper centre, and a manuscript signature of Commandant De Fontenay is applied diagonally across the stamp in ink. Small decorative floral motifs are lightly embossed into the four corners of the card.
