| Beschrijving voorzijde | The inner disc features a detail of the Dea Roma relief sculpture by Angelo Zanelli, as installed at the centre of the Altare della Patria within the Vittoriano complex in Rome, rendered in fine relief against a plain field. The legend ROMA CAPITALE arcs across the upper portion of the inner disc, while the dual dates 1871 and 2021, separated by raised dots, appear to the right, commemorating the 150th anniversary of Rome's proclamation as capital of Italy. To the left, the initials RI (Repubblica Italiana) and the mint mark R for the Rome Mint are present, with the designer's initials UP (Uliana Pernazza) placed in the exergue. The twelve stars of the European Union encircle the design along the outer ring. |
