Beschrijving voorzijde The inner core bears the centennial commemorative design of the Italian Air Force, featuring a stylized numeral '100' bisected diagonally by a runway motif. In the lower left field, a vintage pioneer propeller biplane represents the corps' origins in 1923, while a modern jet fighter aircraft, rendered in the style of an F-35, appears in the upper right. A semicircular arc along the right border of the inner disc links both aircraft and frames the anniversary dates '1923' and '2023'. The legend 'AERONAUTICA MILITARE' is inscribed along the upper periphery of the inner core, with the engraver's initials 'VdS' and the country identifier 'RI' also present in the field. The mint mark 'R' for the Rome Mint appears within the design.

Beschrijving keerzijde The standard European Union reverse design depicts a geographic map of Europe spanning both the inner core and the outer ring, rendered across the right portion of the coin. The denomination '2 EURO' is superimposed over the map, with the numeral '2' set prominently in the open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean. Twelve stars of the European Union are arranged along the right segment of the outer ring, divided into two groups of six, positioned above and below the map of Europe respectively. Six vertical lines incised across the inner core visually unite the two star groupings. The designer's initials 'LL' for Luc Luycx appear in the lower right field.
