The engraver's initials C.M. (Claudia Momoni) appear in the lower right field. The legend GALILEO GALILEI arcs across the upper portion of the inner disc, and the commemorative dates 1564·2014 are inscribed in the lower field, marking the 450th anniversary of Galileo's birth. The outer ring carries the twelve stars of the European Union. |
