| Reverse description | The common reverse design for the 2 Euro denomination, engraved by Luc Luycx, features a stylised relief map of the European continent spanning both the inner disk and the right portion of the outer ring. The numeral 2 occupies the open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean to the left of the map, with the inscription EURO inscribed to its right across the continental landmass. Six vertical relief lines traverse the lower portion of the inner disk, visually uniting the upper and lower segments of the composition. Twelve stars of the European Union are distributed along the right arc of the outer ring, six above and six below the map, and the engraver's initials LL appear in the lower right field. |
