| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse, designed by artist José de Guimarães in his distinctive contemporary style, depicts two stylized human figures in profile rendered in an abstract geometric manner, representing a police officer and a citizen, with symbolic motifs in the field alluding to public order and civic rights. The PSP emblem (Polícia de Segurança Pública) appears at the top of the inner circle, flanked by the inscription 'PSP' above. The legend 'DIREITOS LIBERDADES GARANTIAS' (Rights, Freedoms, Guarantees) is inscribed to the right of the central design, while the commemorative dates '1867 - 2017' and the legend 'SEGURANÇA PÚBLICA' arc along the left rim. The country name 'PORTUGAL' appears at the lower right, the engraver's name 'JOSÉ DE GUIMARÃES' and the mint mark 'INCM' are inscribed along the lower portion of the inner circle.
