Reverse description The archiepiscopal coat of arms displayed on an ornate oval shield, surmounted by a wide-brimmed ecclesiastical hat with pendant tassels and a cross, all characteristic of a prince-archbishop's heraldic achievement. The date is divided by the hat at the top of the design. The reverse legend, commencing at approximately 2 o'clock, reads S.R.I.PR.SAL.S.S.AP.LEG.NAT.GER.PRIMAS, abbreviating the full title Sacri Romani Imperii Princeps Salisburgensis Sacrae Sedis Apostolicae Legatus Natus Germaniae Primas. The composition is enclosed within a beaded border, consistent with milled gold coinage of the Salzburg mint.
