Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Leopold I facing right, depicted with the characteristic elongated Habsburg physiognomy and wearing richly ornamented armor with a flowing mantle. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the baroque style typical of the St. Veit mint. The encircling legend reads LEOPOLDVS D G R I S A G H B REX, interrupted at the base by the mint initial S, with small rosette stops separating the abbreviated titulature. A beaded inner border frames the design.
