| 正面描述 | Full-length armored effigy of Emperor Ferdinand III standing facing, clad in elaborate plate armor with a sword held upright in the right hand and an orb in the left. To the left of the figure, a crowned shield bearing the Arms of Austria-Hungary; to the right, a crowned shield bearing the Arms of Bohemia. The surrounding legend reads FERDINAND III D G R I S A G H B REX, arranged around the periphery in Latin script. The flan is broad and the overall style is characteristic of high-quality mid-17th century Habsburg hammered gold coinage. |

Ferdinand III's reign coincided with the grinding final decade of the Thirty Years' War, ended by the Peace of Westphalia in 1648 — a settlement he negotiated personally and at considerable cost to Habsburg authority over the German princes. Gold multiples from Vienna during these years were struck primarily as presentation and diplomatic pieces rather than commercial currency, distributed at court as gifts and used to pay mercenary commanders whose loyalty was purchased rather than assumed.
Fr#231 is among the scarcer Fugger-era survivals; most extant examples trace to old European cabinet collections rather than circulation finds.
